Are in-room hot tubs and plunge pools heated year-round?
A hot tub or jacuzzi is heated by design, so the water stays warm whatever the season. Plunge pools vary: some are heated for shoulder-season use, others are cool fresh-water pools best in summer. Whether it is comfortable to sit outside is the real question, and the Canary Islands stay mild enough for an open-air soak even in winter.
The heating is rarely the limit; the air is. A heated tub will be warm in December, but sitting on an exposed terrace in a cold wind is another matter. From spring to autumn that is a non-issue across the Mediterranean. For a genuine winter soak outdoors, the warmest reliable spot in our coverage is Costa Adeje on Tenerife, where the climate stays mild all year.
Plunge pools are the ones to check. Many on the Greek islands and the Amalfi Coast are heated so they work across the shoulder seasons, but some are cool pools meant for July and August. The suite details tell you which, so you can match the water to your dates.
