How we rank, and how we make money
A directory is only worth using if it’s honest about its order and its incentives. Here’s exactly how we rank suites, how we earn, and the firewall between the two.
How we order the listings
By default we rank suites by their guest rating and relevance, and every one has already passed our in-room check. You can re-sort by price at any time. We do not sell placement: no hotel can pay to appear higher in the results. If we ever feature a genuinely paid placement, it will be clearly labelled “Sponsored”.
How we make money
Upgrade Suites is free to use. When you tap “Check availability” and go on to book with one of our partners (such as Booking.com, Expedia or Hotels.com), we may earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra: you pay the partner’s standard price and we never add a booking fee. That commission is simply how we keep the site free and independent.
What our commission does NOT affect
Whether a hotel earns us a commission has no bearing on whether we verify it, where it ranks, or the price you’re shown. Verification is editorial, ranking is by quality, and prices come from the booking partner, not from us.
About the prices you see
The “from” price is an indicative all-in nightly rate from our data feed for a sample stay. The live, bookable price for your exact dates is always confirmed on the partner’s site before you pay. We never display fake or struck-through “was” prices, and we never invent scarcity or countdown timers.
In short: checked by hand, in-room only, ranked by quality not payment, honest all-in prices, no fake urgency. We’re paid by the booking partner, never by you.
Questions, answered
Do you earn money if I book?+
Sometimes, yes. If you click through to a partner and complete a booking, we may receive a commission from that partner. It never adds anything to your price.
Can a hotel pay to rank higher?+
No. Ranking is based on guest rating, relevance and our in-room verification. We do not sell placement; any future paid placement would be clearly labelled “Sponsored”.
Do I pay more by booking through Upgrade Suites?+
No. You pay the partner’s standard price. We add no booking fee; our commission comes out of the partner’s margin, not your wallet.
Is the price on the site the final price?+
It’s an indicative “from” price for a sample stay. Your final, bookable price for your dates is always shown and confirmed on the partner’s site before you pay.
